      Thai Herbs give both delicious flavor and unique aroma to
Thai food. Thai Food is known for its balance of five fundamental flavors in each dish or the overall meal - sour, bitter, sweet, hot (spicy) and salty.             Except salty, the other four flavors come from herbs.

Example of Herbs giving four flavors.

Sour :  Tamarind (Ma-kham), Kaffir Lime (Ma-grood), Lime (Ma-now)

Sweet : Shallots (Hom-daeng)

Spicy : Chilli (Prik), Galangal (Kha), Ginger (Kinge)
